We’re thinking about moving

Dear Patient

We are writing to ask for your feedback on our proposal to move from our current building to a The Calvert Centre on Calvert Lane.

As you may know, our current premises are quite old and are no longer fit for purpose. The building is not easily accessible for patients/staff with mobility issues and does not have the space we need to provide patient care effectively or increase the services we offer.

We are proposing a move to a spacious, purpose-built surgery, 0.8 miles away on Calvert Lane. While the move would impact those patients living close to our current site more, it would mean we could improve services for all in the future.

Under the proposal, our catchment area would remain the same and current staff retained. Any move would take place over a weekend to keep disruption to a minimum.

All patients currently registered with us will have the option of moving with us or of changing to one of the other surgeries in their area.

As a practice, we try very hard to meet the care needs of the local community and listen to the views of our patients. We are, therefore, running a survey to get your views and feedback to inform our future planning.

If you would prefer to complete a paper copy, please ask at reception and they will provide you with one. If you would like to discuss this in person we will also be holding drop-in sessions at Wheeler Street on the following dates:

  • Saturday 04/10/25 – 11am – 1pm
  • Wednesday 08/10/25 – 10am -12pm
  • Tuesday 14/10/25 – 3pm – 5pm

We look forward to hearing from you.
